The AJ Beedie Jewellers Arbroath Open returns on the 1st June 2024 and will be played at Shotz, Arbroath.
AJ Beedie Jewellers remain a close partner of the ADPL and we encourage all members to visit them for any jewellery, trophy or watch repair needs they may have. Sandy Beedie has very kindly continued his generous sponsorship of the event and we thank him for doing so.
Play is expected to commence at 11:00am but will be entry dependent.
The deadline for ALL entries is Friday 24th May at 7:00pm. This will allow all entries to be collated and the LIVE draw carried out in advance. This deadline stands for ALL players and those in surrounding areas will be contacted to ensure monies are collected. As always, the event will be held on high quality Supreme tables. The draw will be posted online as soon as it is carried out.
The entry fee is £10 per player and matches will begin, as a minimum, best of five frames (although, depending on entries this may be increased). All entry monies will be paid out on the day. Rules will be SPA Blackball, with players lagging the first frame with alternative breaks from then on. Players are to referee their own matches with a floating referee in place on the day. The Tournament Director reserves the right to introduce a one-minute shot clock at any time to prevent ‘slow play’.
The tournament is an "Open" event and therefore entries are encouraged and welcome from players not registered to the Arbroath league, however, you should be familiar with the Blackball rules.
As always, good personal conduct is paramount. It is appreciated pool days are social events too but players who do not conduct themselves properly will either be warned, docked frames or asked to leave the venue. Any players removed from the venue will not be invited back.
Any questions please ask.
In the meantime please feel free to post your interest on this thread.
Note: Posting your interest below does NOT mean you will be in the draw, players must ensure their entry fee is received on or before the deadline to ensure they are in the draw!
